Corporate responsibility

Responding to the climate crisis

Global warming is a reality. Temperatures are rising as more greenhouse gases are emitted to the atmosphere. Environmental conditions are changing too and thereby jeopardising our usual way of living and working. The IATC Group shares the concern among politicians, businesses and the general public about the state of the world. In our opinion, we all need to take responsibility and action. In the IATC Group we have, for several years, worked on reducing our environmental impact. We have a tradition of being innovative, which is also the case when it comes to environmental initiatives and developments. This effort has earned us the position as an industry leader in several business areas. Being a group of our size we feel particularly committed to contributing with sustainable solutions in the industries where we are active. Numerous examples show how we already work to be energy efficient at our own product as with our partners and suppliers.

Research and development

The close relationship to the customer and the realization of customer needs in the development of high-quality products distinguishes us today as a competent and reliable partner for problem solutions in the industrial sector, and it will continue to do so in the future. IATC’s research, development and quality progress on the global market are principally the result of the constant search for product and quality improvements, supported by a constant, intensive exchange of experiences with the automobile industry. This was how, in an additional innovative leap in the mid-90’s, a preservative system completely free of solvents was able to be introduced as an ecologically-compatible alternative to the classic, solvent-content hollow space wax. The “highlights” of this product line are the aqueous hollow space preservative and a 100% solid body material for the classic spray application. The results are the market leadership in the hollow space preservative segment and products with a licence of the general European industry.

We decided on an environmental strategy for the entire Group as well as publishing our first group report on Health, Safety and Environment. By focusing on energy efficiency in our strategy we furthermore commit ourselves to do more than regulations require. Our first HSE Report has brought us a baseline for future progress on reporting and performance. These initiatives, as well as the new IATC green section of our website, are ways of showing our commitment to the environmental agenda. Our obligation to seek substantial progress on environment and climate issues is the streamline throughout IATC. This is also reflected in our present considerations to sign up to Global Compact and the Carbon Disclosure Project. The IATC Board
